題僧壁. 李商隱. 舍生求道有前蹤

 舍生求道有前蹤，乞腦剜身結願重。

大去便應欺粟顆，小來兼可隱針鋒。

蚌胎未滿思新桂，琥珀初成憶舊松。

若信貝多真實語，三生同聽一樓鐘。

捨棄生命以求大道，早有前人施腦剜身的例子，皆以此結下深重的願力，堅定不移。佛法廣大，須彌納芥子，大世界如粟般包容；針尖之微，亦可容諸佛。修行未成，如蚌胎尚未圓滿，自然思慕新月桂影；即使已成琥珀，仍不忘前身松脂。若真信佛陀所說的真實語，三世輪迴中，皆能聽聞同一樓鐘之聲。

向佛之路有跡可循，為求佛法甘願捨命，肝腦塗地，在所不惜。萬物皆如此：今生思及來世，又憶著前生。前世、今生、來世，其實不過刹那輪回。當一個人沉溺於世間物象太久，靜聽梵音經貝，如醍醐灌頂。寂夜裡悠遠虛渺的鐘聲，喚醒夢中之人，三生緣會，一夕修成。

李商隱此詩借用大量佛經故事（乞腦、剜身、芥子須彌、針尖容佛）與自然意象（蚌胎、琥珀），題於僧院牆壁，表面讚頌僧侶的獻身精神與佛法奧妙，實則寄託他對人生的感慨與對解脫的嚮往。

 

They cast off life to seek the Way—predecessors' tracks remain.
They begged with brains, gouged flesh from bodies, vows profound and firm.

Viewed vast, a millet grain deceives the cosmos entire;
Seen small, the world conceals itself within a needle's tip.

The pearl in oyster's womb, not full, yearns for the new moon's cassia;
Amber newly formed recalls the ancient pine it once was.

If we believe the true words etched on palm-leaf scriptures,
In one toll of the temple bell, three lives resound as one.
